Shellbanks is a unique private marina located in a quiet residential neighborhood on the south shore of Long Island. It is a safe, protected place to keep your boat. We are directly north of the Jones Beach Theater. A gateway to the Great South Bay, fishing enthusiasts will enjoy waters filled with Clams, Striped Bass, Weakfish, Bluefish, and Fluke, only a 4-minute boat ride to the open bay.

Our 26-boat facility provides parking space directly behind your boat. Conveniently situated between the Town of Hempstead from the Town of Oyster Bay. To the East we border Seaford Creek, a natural deep-water estuary running north to Merrick Road and south to Florence Avenue Beach on the Bay. To the North we border Arrowhead Creek providing complete protection from any kind of weather. We offer back-in access to floating docks. One large common dock is available to all patrons for easy boarding for larger parties. From your slip to the open bay is a five-minute cruise.

Shellbanks Heritage

Shellbanks was the name given to this location by its local Indigenous people hundreds of years ago. It was used to bring seafood harvest ashore. Clam shells were handcrafted into wampum at this same location.

Marina Policies

• Summer season begins April 15th and runs through Thanksgiving.
• Dockage and storage pricing goes by the “actual” measured length of your boat.
