Shellbanks a unique private marina, located in a quiet residential neighborhood on Long Islands South Shore.
We are located near Jones inlet and Jones Beach and State Park,
"The Gateway to the Great South Bay." The South Shore offers miles of unspoiled beaches, bays and quiet coves
ideal for family boating. Every fourth of July boaters flock from miles away to see "The Blue Angles" Naval Air Show with
"Grucci" fireworks display. From Zacks Bay Summer boaters can listen to concerts from the "Jones Beach Marine Theater." Fishing
enthusiasts will find our waters are home to Striped Bass, Weakfish, Bluefish and Fluke from May through November.
Our 26-boat facility offers parking directly behind your boat. To the East we border Seaford Creek, a natural deep-water estuary running
north to Merrick Road and South to Florence Avenue Beach on the Bay, dividing the Town of Hempstead from the Town of Oyster Bay. To the North we border
Arrowhead Creek providing complete protection from any kind of weather. We offer back-in access to floating docks. One large common
dock is available to all patrons for easy boarding of larger parties. From your slip to the open bay is a five-minute cruise.
Shellbanks Heritage
Shellbanks was a name given to this location by the local indigenous inhabitants (Tackapusha Indians) of the Seaford area
hundreds of years ago. This location was used by the Indians to bring their seafood harvest ashore. Clams shells were hand
crafted into wampum (Indian currency) at our same location.

Boats are measured from bow/bow-pulpit to stern/swim-platform or bracket.
